what are some good reasons to become an accountant?
i am in grade 10 and i live in ontario canada, i have no idea what i’m going to be when i grow up, but i have considered being an accountant,what type of accountant should i become? is it a well paying job? do you have to work allot of hours? is it easy to find a job after you get your education? and please tell me some of the bad things?

You don’t have to choose what type of accountant you want to be right away. You will get paid extremely well, and your options for employment are limitless. You can be anything from an accounts payable clerk, bookkeeper, staff accountant… all the way up to management! You need to be fairly good at math, reading, and writing, because there is a lot of it. The tax season can be stressful. Many companies are hiring accountants before they even graduate. I am an accounting major, and it can be hard, but it is worth it! Try and find a mentor who is in the accounting profession, and look over an introductory accounting book so you can to get a better idea of what accounting is about. Try and find out if it is a good fit for your personality. You want to enjoy what you do!
