Will hotels guarantee rooms with a credit card that expires before the date of a reservation?

I want to book some hotel rooms for my summer getaway but my credit card will expire before my holiday. Obviously I will receive a replacement from my card provider come the expiry date, but are hotels likely to guarantee reservations on my current card?

    I would say no.. I don’t think they would risk that, Unless they take payment there and then. If they are taking payment after your stay or on the actual date of your stay then i doubt it.

    Your question made me look at my card.
    I just made reservations 4 months ahead of time with an expired credit card.
    Even if a hotel makes a charge on an expired card and you don’t get a replacement, the hotel will get its money, and you will get the bill.
