Isn’t the Director like the highest promotion in a bank? And saying that I don’t think that Bank Director is a promotable job. You have to be voted Director by the shareholders. I may be completely wrong, it’s just this is in the business section so I am answering it in terms of business.

You could only become Director after at least 10-20 years experience in the banking industry and after having done an MBA. The highest promotion is a CEO. Many CEOs and MDs usually leave their jobs to set up their own banks.
