Applying for cards and loans, and being rejected, is on your credit file.

The result of the credit search is not reported on your file.
If you apply for multiple cards within a short amount of time this can start to affect your credit, because it will seem to be that you are desperate for credit.
Find out why the application was unsuccessful and try and fix this before making another application

Yes it does affect your credit rating. Every time you applyfor any credit or overdraft or hire purchase it it’s shown on your credit rating.
