Whats the cheapest way to transfer money from an English bank account to a French one?

Is there an alternative better then paying the crazy prices at the bank?

If it’s an option, the cheapest way is to withdraw money from your English bank, change it at a Bureau de Change and deposit it in your French bank.

Other than that, the only thing I can suggest is to change to a bank that doesn’t charge as much.

Unless Western Union or someone like it will do it for less.

Bank transfer is the safest, after all, its a small amount really to protect your money….Something strikes me a bit odd about questions like this, people must be thinking of transferring a considerable amount,. for say a house purchase or rent, then quibble about £30 odd quid to transfer the funds??? Whats the cost compared to the risk of cashing a cheque or withdrawing all your money and then getting mugged, you won’t have it protected or insured, how small is the charge as a percentage of the total amount of money you want to move, just think about it!
